A walk through the history of Ilirska Bistrica starts at the very center of the town, the Plac' square, across the Levstik Street and through the oldest part of the town. Across the bridge, the trail leads to the Sušec waterfall and heads back up the Meden hill, passing the Church of St George. Once you are past the large quarry, you end up on Črne Njive. The descent back to Ilirska Bistrica is easy. The educational trail focuses on the history, cultural and natural heritage of the town and its immediate surroundings.
