The Prem Circular Route
The Prem Circular Route invites you to walk through the village of Prem and discover its history. Along the way you can visit Prem Castle, the former primary school with the exhibition School Life, Kette’s memorial room and St Helena’s Church with paintings by Tone Kralj. You will also learn about the stories of local people such as Karel Lavrič and Bogomil Fatur, and the typical Brkini landscape.

Pot vas popelje po brkinski vasi Prem, od gradu Prem do rojstne hiše književnika Bogomila Faturja in enega od studencev in naprej do Kettejeve spominske šole in stalne razstave Šolski živžav ter do cerkve Helene. Sprehodite se lahko tudi kapele sv. Katarine.

The route takes you to the main attractions:
Prem Castle the best-preserved castle in the river Reka basin, where you can learn more about its history, see permanent and temporary exhibitions, and attend events such as the Knights' Day and Prem Meetings;
the former Prem primary school, where you can discover the history of primary education in Ilirska Bistrica and experience a school lesson from the SFRY era at the exhibition "The School Life" ,
Kette"s Memorial Room, which is located in the former Primary School in Prem, where the poet was born;
St Helena Church, famous for its paintings by the academic artist Tone Kralj.
Along the way, you will also discover the stories of important personalities such as Karel Lavrič and Bogomil Fatur, and discover the unique cultural landscape of Brkini.
You can follow the route independently using the map available at Prem Castle. There you can also buy tickets to visit the castle, Kette's memorial room and the permanent exhibition School Life: an exhibition on the history of primary education in Ilirska Bistrica.
