Guided cycling tour – “Beu kamn”
A historical and culinary journey through the Karst peaks to the forests of Snežnik.
This 38.4 km long trail with 937 m of ascent starts in Bač and leads through the picturesque Upper Pivka Valley and the karst landscape below Snežnik. Along the way, cyclists visit the ruins of Kalec Castle, enjoy the views from the Šilentabor hill and ride through quiet, traditional villages such as Šembije.
The route follows a combination of asphalt and macadam roads, including forest sections below Velika Milanja and parts of the Slovenian Touring Cycle Route. It is best suited for gravel bikes, but also suitable for trekking and mountain bikes.
Tastes along the way
The route is not only a sporting challenge, but also a real culinary experience.
Along the way, stop at Slavec Farm, where you can taste a unique goat’s milk ice cream, one of the few of its kind in Slovenia, as well as other homemade delicacies the farm is known for. You can also recharge your energy in Zagorje at Stari Tišler, where an excellent selection of local food and drinks awaits you – you certainly won’t leave hungry or thirsty.
The path then continues towards the famous Šilentabr, where you will be rewarded with beautiful views, followed by a stop in Šembije. A stop at a beautiful horse farm - Horses on Breg KONJI NA BREGU. From here, you climb towards Velika Milanja, where the views will take your breath away. For a perfect end to the day, lunch awaits you at Mašun Gostišče Mašun, known for its excellent cuisine. At the end, there is only a relaxed descent back to the starting point - or a return to the Slavec farm for another scoop of ice cream. 🍦Kmetija Slavec

Tour details:
- Length: 48 km BIKE ROUTE - GPX
- Altitude difference: 1080 m
- Duration: approx. 5 - 6 hours (adjusted for stops)
- Terrain: tarmac and gravel roads (excluding technically demanding parts)
- Suitable for: intermediate cyclists and e-bike users
- Food and drink: tastings of local delicacies (Knežak, Šembije) and lunch at the Mašun Inn.
Equipment and rental:
- Bike: Mountain (MTB), gravel or touring bike.
- Hire: For those without their own equipment, e-bikes are available for hire (by prior arrangement).
- Compulsory equipment: bike helmet and own water supply (at least 1.5 l).
