LAS between Snežnik and Nanos, together with Bubec Tourist Farm and TIC Ilirska Bistrica, is organizing a promotional event for families and outdoor enthusiasts: BUBEC TOURIST FARM OPEN DAY, taking place on Saturday, 10 October 2026.

What’s happening and when?

🚲 10:00 am – active participants and culture enthusiasts can join a guided sightseeing bike tour;
🐟 2:00 pm – guided tour of Bubec Tourist Farm and the fish farm, followed by a smoked trout tasting;
🧒 2:30 pm – it’s time for our youngest visitors, with a family entertainment and animation programme;
📖 3:30 pm – Kette Quiz;
👩‍🍳 4:00 pm – “Grilled Trout” cooking workshop at Bubec Tourist Farm.

*If cycling isn’t your first choice, but you would still like to spend the day actively, we invite you to join the hikers, with the hike organized by the Third Age Association.

🚶 Hikers will meet at 2:00 PM in the parking lot at the Cultural Centre Videm. You can also join the hike at Derenčin House (Kettejeva ulica 7) at 2:15 PM.

The participation fee for the guided sightseeing bike tour is €10 per person. E-bikes can also be rented from the TIC for an additional fee. The tour will start at the TIC, where the participation fee can also be paid on the day of the event. The route will lead to Prem, with a stop at the Kette Memorial Room, and then continue along the Brkini Fruit Road to Bubec Tourist Farm. Places for the bike tour are limited. Registration is open until 9 October or until all available places are filled. The participation fee for the “Grilled Trout” cooking workshop is €5 per person.

Participation in the family entertainment programme, the hike organized by the Third Age Association, and the guided tour of Bubec Tourist Farm and its fish farm, including a tasting, is free of charge. During lunchtime, the menu will also feature the “Bubec Platter” at a special price.
