Sežanje Snežnik
The route to Snežnik starts on a quiet forest road, closed to public traffic, which leads through a pleasant and quiet forest setting. After a short, easy stretch, the road begins to descend towards the grassy Grčovec basin, where the landscape opens up a little. Here we continue along the track, which, with few signs, leads us deeper and deeper into unspoilt nature.
Soon the wide path turns into a narrow track surrounded by dense forest, and the ascent becomes progressively steeper. As you walk, small views of the surrounding forests and hillsides open up more and more, and the sense of wilderness becomes more pronounced. Higher above the forest line, we are greeted by heath and rockier terrain, where the path leads through a narrow valley and some steeper sections.
With every step, the views become more beautiful and more open. The trail then joins the marked trail from the Leskov valley, and from there it is a final climb over the panoramic hillsides. At the top of Snežnik, you will be treated to a panoramic view of the surrounding forests, the interior of Slovenia and, in good weather, even the sea and the Croatian mountains.
