Mountain lodge in Sviščaki
The mountain hut is situated on the edge of a forest clearing at the foot of Mount Snežnik, close to a tourist and recreational centre with a small ski slope and a holiday cottage village.
After the Second World War, the Ilirska Bistrica Mountaineering Association took over a former stable next to a dilapidated mountain hut. The building was thoroughly renovated and furnished, and when it officially opened on 12 August 1951, it was named Cankar Mountain Hut (Cankarjeva koča). After 1963, the hut was further expanded and renovated into the attractive mountain lodge seen today, with its official reopening celebrated on 21 July 1968.
The hut is open from Wednesday to Sunday. The indoor dining area accommodates 38 guests and includes a bar, while the outdoor terrace in front of the hut offers seating for 80 to 100 visitors.

- Wednesday: 9.00-18.00
- Thursday: 9.00-18.00
- Friday: 9.00-20.00
- Saturday: 9.00-20.00
- Sunday: 9.00-18.00
