Milanja trail

The Milanja Trail (17 km) starts and ends at Črne Njive above Ilirska Bistrica and leads through pine forests and flowering karst meadows. The whole route is about 550 metres of ascent, all the way to the highest point at Velika Milanja (1099 m).

Along the ridge of Milanja, you can enjoy magnificent views of Brkini, Čičarija, Učka and Slavnik, and the Kvarner Bay. In good weather, the view reaches as far as the Julian Alps and the Italian Dolomites. The route mostly follows well-maintained dirt roads and forest paths, before descending through karst meadows and forests back to the finish.
