Church of St Helena

The parish church of St Helena, the successor to the old 17th-century church, is built in a pseudo-Romanesque style with distinctive Baroque details. Although the architecture of the church is not among the most brilliant, it is very famous and worth a visit, as it was painted in 1921 by Tone Kralj himself. The church stands a few hundred metres above the village and Prem Castle.

The exhibition is currently on display at the National Gallery of Ljubljana Tone Kralj (1900-1975)., which offers an in-depth insight into the life and work of one of the most important Slovenian visual artists of the 20th century. The exhibition sheds light on his extraordinary artistic career and allows visitors to understand his work in a broader Slovenian and European context. The exhibition is accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue in Slovenian and English with reproductions of all the works on display and an expert text by the exhibition's author, Goran Milovanović:

The exhibition is complemented by a varied accompanying programme, which allows visitors to get to know the artist's work in more depth.
