Kalec – Sviščaki trail

The section of the Notranjska Mountain Trail from Kalec to Sviščaki leads through the picturesque Inner Bohemian landscape, combining forest paths, karst meadows and view ridges. The trail starts at Kalec Castle, a popular excursion point above Zagorje, and then gradually ascends via Bač, Knežak and Koritnice towards the mountain ridges of the Snežnik plateau.

Along the way, hikers are accompanied by views of Suha Reber, Kraljevič vrh and the surrounding forests, which gradually give way to the high-altitude world of Snežnik. The trail ends at the Sviščaki Mountain House (1242 m), a popular starting point for the climb to Snežnik and a place for a pleasant rest.

This is one of the longer, but very beautiful sections of the Notranjska mountain trail, offering a real experience of nature, silence and views.
