New Neighbors – New Colors

New Neighbors – New Colors is the title of the exhibition currently on display at Pavlovec Gallery. This summer, in collaboration with Anamarija Stibilj Šajn, art critic and curator of the gallery, the team has prepared a truly unique artistic and cultural experience. From 31 July to 16 September, Pavlovec Gallery brings together a diverse selection of artworks that vary in subject matter, style, artistic expression, and technique. The exhibition features four artists: one local artist who has made a life abroad, alongside three international artists who have found a second home in and around Ilirska Bistrica. Polona Simonič, originally from Ilirska Bistrica, now lives in Ireland. Ivan Christmas moved to Novokračine from London, Siniša Ponjević relocated to Ilirska Bistrica from Novi Sad, and Laurent Thomas settled in Jelšane after leaving Paris. Each artist pursues a distinctive area of visual expression, and for some of them, the landscape and atmosphere of this region have become an important source of artistic inspiration.
