Experience Ilirska Bistrica – 16 October
EXPERIENCE ILIRSKA BISTRICA through the flavours and stories of the local people.
Accompanied by local tour guide Sandra Grudenić, you will walk through Kindler Park to the town centre, where you will discover the rich collections of the Shoemaker’s Workshop, Hodnik’s Mill and the Beekeepers’ Centre. During the tour, you will also get a taste of the lively market atmosphere taking place in the town square that day.
If you wish, you can continue your walk to the Sušec Waterfall and Hrib svobode (Hill of Freedom).
A culinary experience prepared by food expert Rihard Baša will take place at the Beekeepers’ Centre.

Meeting point: 9:00 a.m. in front of the Ilirska Bistrica Tourist Information Centre (Gregorčičeva cesta 2)
Duration: 4 - 5 hours
Suitable for: private groups or individuals who want to experience the lively atmosphere of the town and its market.
Price: 25,00 €/person
Price includes:
- local tourist guide,
- Lunch (a hearty stew, homemade bread and homemade juice),
- admission to three museum collections.

IDEA FOR A FULL-DAY TRIP
After exploring Ilirska Bistrica in the morning, we recommend continuing your trip to Prem. Here, you can visit the castle, featuring a NEW PERMANENT EXHIBITION, as well as Kette’s Memorial Room, which houses a permanent exhibition on the history of primary education in the Ilirska Bistrica area.
