Škoromatija is the oldest extant carnival parade in this part of Europe. There are two kinds of masks, the good and the evil, with Kleščar the Guardian of the Night leading them through the town streets.
Škoromats are the wildest and most attractive part of the famous carnival through the streets of Ilirska Bistrica, which also includes other ethnological masks from the area, as well as modern, fun and other masks.

With a single ticket*, you can enter the ethnological collection of the Brkini Škoromats and Prem Castle on

between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
*The ticket for adults is €9.00, for students and pensioners €7.00, for children up to 5.99 years of age, admission is free. The ticket is valid for all three dates, which means that it doesn't have to be fully used on the day of purchase.
